Former Duke center Jahlil Okafor, the third overall pick in the 2015 draft, finally got his wish: A trade out of Philadelphia, and a chance for consistent playing time.

Philadelphia has excised Okafor from its rotation after declining their team option on him for next season, and Okafor's representatives have asked for a trade or a buyout.

Okafor was drafted with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2015 National Basketball Association draft.

The Philadelphia 76ers have traded Jahlil Okafor, Nik Stauskas and a 2019 second-round pick (via the New York Knicks) to the Brooklyn Nets for Trevor Booker on Thursday afternoon, according to Zach Lowe and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The team has seen young players, including Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, blossom in the past two seasons. In his 25 minutes of action, he is averaging 5.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game.

There are no reports of injuries, but the flames are dangerously close to the Getty Center and buildings nearby. The 101 remains open, but authorities warned drivers to be cautious traveling through the area.

Before joining the Nets last season Booker spent two seasons in Utah after playing his first four years in the National Basketball Association with the Wizards.

The 6-foot-8 Booker is averaging a career-high 10.1 points to go along with 6.6 rebounds in 18 games with the Nets this season.

Already loaded with forwards, Trevor Booker will have to find a way into the 76ers rotation. Dario Saric is now starting at power forward and Embiid at center, with Amir Johnson backing them up.

Stauskas had played in only six games for the 76ers.
