  • Golden State Warriors guard Shaun Livingston argues a call with referee Courtney Kirkland before he was called for a technical foul and was ejected during an NBA basketball game against the Miami Heat Sunday Dec. 3 2017 in Miami

Livingston will sit out on Monday night against the New Orleans Pelicans with Patrick McCaw seeing extra minutes in his absence.

That is the case, but Kirkland isn't being absolved of fault in the incident by the league. According to the National Basketball Association, a review of the incident determined that Kirkland moved toward Livingston and shared responsibility for the contact.

The NBA has suspended Golden State Warriors guard Shaun Livingston for one game and removed referee Courtney Kirkland for one week from the league's officiating rotation for their roles in an on-court altercation Sunday.

UCF targeting Kevin Sumlin to replace Scott Frost
Frost also said "we still have some talking to do" as it relates to him returning to UCF to coach the Knights' bowl game. The Knights were 0-12 the year before, but finished 6-6 his first season and went to a bowl game.

The NBA official, Courtney Kirkland, will also be suspended for one week without pay. He will be eligible to return to game action on Monday, Dec. 11. Perhaps Kerr feels Livingston got his rest by getting ejected during the second quarter of Sunday's win, so maybe he'll let him play. Livingston's only other ejection came in Game 4 of the 2016 Western Conference semifinals in Portland, after receiving his second technical foul for complaining to referee Scott Foster.

While Livingston did not speak to reporters, Kirkland provided a statement to a pool reporter.
