  • The FBI fired back at President Trump's comments against the Bureau on Sunday

The people briefed on the case said the transfer followed the discovery of text messages in which Mr. Strzok and a colleague reacted to news events, like presidential debates, in ways that could appear critical of Mr. Trump. "Yet Trump tried to influence or stop the FBI investigation on #Flynn".

Brushing aside an ongoing Russian Federation probe, President Donald Trump reveled Saturday in the Senate's passage of a sweeping tax bill, predicting with swagger that he and his fellow Republicans were "unbeatable". Trump said in a tweet, his second comment of the day of the explosive turn of events in the Russian Federation probe. He was sacked in mid-February by Trump after officials said that he had misled Vice President Mike Pence and other officials about his phone discussions with Sergey Kislyak, at the time the Russian ambassador to the United States. It's his most substantial reaction to the guilty plea by Flynn on Friday as part of the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller.

Flynn also admitted that he spoke with another member of the transition team before he talked to Kislyak about USA sanctions on December 29, court records say.

Comey testified before a Senate panel in June that after Flynn's firing, Trump asked Comey to drop an investigation into the former national security director. He is a good guy.

"Comey wrote in his opening testimony that Trump said: "'I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go.

White House Transition Adviser's Emails Say Russia Threw The Election To Trump ― REPORT
Trump blasts ABC News reporter Brian Ross over 'horrendously inaccurate and dishonest report' on Michael Flynn

Flynn is the first person in the Trump administration to be reached by Mueller's probe. It seems he's feeling smug about the turn of events at the White House.

As acting attorney general at the end of the Obama administration, Yates and another Justice Department official went to the White House on January 26 to warn White House counsel Don McGahn that Flynn was potentially compromised and vulnerable to blackmail because of discrepancies between the public accounting of the Kislyak conversation and what actually occurred. "We're unbeatable", Trump said. Strzok played a key role in the FBI investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server, the papers said.

Trump fired Comey in May.

Neither Mr Trump nor Mr Pence indicated concern then that the Federal Bureau of Investigation had not been told the true story.

A plea agreement suggests that Flynn provided information to prosecutors beneficial to Mueller's investigation. When asked if he was anxious what the former national security advisor will tell the special counsel, the president responded, "No, I'm not".
