Google's got a new app users can take advantage of to make tracking and managing your data usage on Android devices easier. But, even better, it's also giving users the ability to have more control over which apps use that data.

The app allows users to block individual apps from using mobile data and can display real-time data usage while an app is running. It also provides a directory of nearby Wi-Fi networks that includes user commentary on their quality.

The app was already available for testing in Philippines since last few months.

Google is introducing a new app titled Datally which is unique and has a marvelous design.

Unless you happen to have an unlimited plan, it's important to know how much data you're consuming, especially in developing countries where prices can be extremely high.

Palestinian factions delay Gaza handover to Fatah
The attack apparently set off rocket sirens in the Israeli town of Sderot and other communities surrounding the Gaza Strip. Just over two hours later, local residents in Gaza reported hearing further Israeli air strikes on the Strip.

Datally is obviously a major play at capturing those next billion users that many global internet giants are after. The Datally app is your one stop destination to control your mobile data usage.

It's also worth noting that numerous features Datally offers are already built into Android. You won't get push notifications nor will the apps refresh content in the background. "The visibility gives users more confidence to use those apps".

Despite the advent of 4G LTE, mobile data continues to be an expensive and unreliable proposition in many parts of the world. Data Saver uses a VPN to block unwanted data usage (and the wizard is quite to point out that you don't need to worry about Google inspecting your data).

Google has launched an app on Wednesday. It also lets you track your data usage in real time. Once we started fiddling with the app we were able to find that it not only has mobile data usage statistics of the day it was installed on but also data statistics of the past. If you're not familiar with Google's steadily-growing collection of utility apps-for example, the somewhat related Project Fi and Google Wifi apps-they're generally quite good and are improving all the time.
