Trader Joe's chicken, turkey salads recalled after reports of glass fragments, silica

SAN ANTONIO-Green Cuisine is recalling more than 36,000 pounds of children and turkey salad products that may have hard silica and glass fragments.

The salads were produced from November 4 through 15 and all have a use by date of November 10-21, 2017. The potentially polluted turkey cranberry apple salads were sold in Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington and have the SKU 60983.

All of the affected salads have a code P-40299 within the "Inspected by U.S. Dept. of Agriculture" stamp on the packaging.

The warning applies to white meat chicken and curried white chicken deli salads sold in Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

If you purchased any of these fresh salads with the affected codes, please do not eat it.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged to not eat them, throw them away, or take them back to the store where they were purchased for a refund.

Trader Joe's addressed the recall on their website, saying all affected product on their shelves have been destroyed.
