  • Eddie Berganza Fired DC Comics

Two women who worked at DC Comics in 2010 complained to the company's human resources department about unwanted advances Berganza made in the early to mid 2000s, including forcible kissing and attempted groping.

The latest career to get decapitated on the railroad tracks of the allegation express is comic book editor Eddie Berganza, who was sacked by DC Comics after years of complaints filed against Berganza for sexual harassment. "We are committed to eradicating harassment and ensuring that all employees, as well as our freelance community, are aware of our policies, are comfortable reporting any concerns and feel supported by our company".

DC Comics and Warner Bros. have parted ways with longtime editor Eddie Berganza after he was suspended over the weekend. On Saturday, one day after BuzzFeed News' report, DC announced it was suspending Berganza and launching a review into the matter.

Yemen Says Saudi-Led Coalition to Allow Commercial Flights
Saudi Arabia fears that the rebels will give its Shi'Ite rival Iran a foothold in the Arabian Peninsula. Earlier, the coalition reopened the Aden and Mukalla sea ports.

Berganza has not yet commented on the allegations or his suspension and eventual firing.

In fact, Buzzfeed's report wasn't the first time Berganza had been publicly accused of sexual misconduct. And while that is slowly changing, with the popularity of Wonder Woman and women-led comics from the likes of Gabby Rivera and Rainbow Rowell, the Berganza story is clear and undeniable proof that we still have a very long way to go. HR reportedly did no follow-up with any of these employees, and despite their complaints, Berganza was promoted to executive editor - a blow Asselin called "massively demoralizing". "While we can not comment on specific personnel matters, DC takes allegations of discrimination and harassment very seriously, promptly investigates reports of misconduct and disciplines those who violate our standards and policies". But for many, many comic book creators and fans, that wasn't almost enough. DC continues to be extremely committed to creating a safe and secure working environment for our employees and everyone involved in the creation of our comic books.

DC did not disclose who would be assuming Berganza's duties as Group Editor.
