  • Patricia and Misty's relationship was discovered by the Department of Human Services last year during a child welfare investigation inside their home in Duncan

Misty Spann and her mother, Patricia Ann Spann, 44, married in Lawton in March 2016 and lived together in Duncan, records show.

An Oklahoma woman who married her biological mother has pleaded guilty to incest.

Misty Velvet Dawn Spann, 26, pleaded guilty to incest in Stephens County, Oklahoma, on Tuesday after the illicit affair was uncovered.

Previously, Patricia Spann married her own son.

In addition to spending 10 years on probation, the judge also ordered her to undergo counseling and pay various court fees. Afterward, she and Misty "hit it off", according to the paper.

I'm rarely speechless, but I have no words.

The mother and daughter started a relationship in 2014 but took it to the next level two years later and filed for a marriage license.

Her case the court will consider in January next year.

She also married one of her sons, Jody Calvin Spann, in 2008.

In her request for the annulment, Misty Spann complained her mother claimed to have "consulted with three separate attorneys who advised there would be no problem with the marriage".

An Oklahoma Department of Human Services child welfare investigator discovered information that led her to believe that Misty and Patricia Spann's relationship was incestuous, according to Tulsa World.

"We got told we actually had a real mom, so we wanted to know what she was about, the first thing she showed us she was about was trying to get in my brother's trousers", Cody added.

Court records show the marriage was annulled last month at the request of Misty Spann on the grounds of fraud and illegality.

She "had looked into" marrying her daughter and wrongly determined she it was allowed because her name no longer appears on Misty's birth certificate, the document added.

Incest is punishable by up to 10 years in prison in Oklahoma.
