Swift's label Big Machine (which is distinct from its distributor, Universal Music Group) is telling accounts that it is expecting first-week sales of 2 million units, according to a report in Billboard, but that tally seems dramatically optimistic given the extent to which streaming has taken hold in the USA, and the relatively unspectacular performance of the four singles Swift has released in advance of the album (as opposed to "Shake It Off", the global smash that preceded "1989").

According to Hilton, he's a victim of Swift's wrath, which he's never felt before.

Save for confirmation that Swift would be performing a brand new song (as in, not one of her previously released "reputation" tracks), few other details were provided.

She also shared the track list, thrilling fans with soon-to-be-heard collaborations with Ed Sheeran and Future.

Three years ago, Swift's album 1989 shifted 1.29 million copies in just seven days, while 2012's Red sold 1.21 million, and 2010's Speak Now achieved 1.05 million. Either way, the album will still be one of the biggest releases of the year. "Ready For It?" but we can definitely expect more songs like that throughout the rest of the tracks listed above.

And on Thursday evening the Shake It Off singer will debut her new single New Year's Day during the airing of Scandal on ABC. The announcements was made on November 2. Gomez also memorably starred in Swift's "Bad Blood" music video in 2014. Once the album is sent to the streaming services and prepared for release, it can be officially posted in a matter of hours.
