  • RB Ezekiel Elliott Again Preparing For

On Thursday, the 2nd Circuit denied Elliott's motion, reinstating the Dallas Cowboys running back's six-game suspension that has been playing out in the legal system throughout the season.

So, Elliott will nearly certainly miss that contest and many experts expect he'll serve the six-game suspension in full after this ruling. Those contests being against the 4-4 Falcons, the 8-1 Philadelphia Eagles, the 3-5 Los Angeles Chargers, the 4-4 Washington Redskins, the 1-7 New York Giants and the 4-5 Oakland Raiders.

According to Pro Football Talk, an appellate court will hear his case on an expedited basis, and Elliott will remain suspended until then. The suspension came after the National Football League investigated his alleged use of force in the summer of 2016 against his girlfriend.

The Elliott suspension has been weaving through the courts since he was ordered in August to serve the ban for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

The NFLPA has argued a suspension would irreparably harm Elliott's career. Actually, no. The NFL could have allowed Elliott to play either last week or this week because of the timing of the courts' decisions. Now Elliott seeks a longer-lasting injunction from a three-judge panel that will hear his case Thursday in NY.

Elliott, a Pro Bowler as a rookie last season, ranks second in the National Football League with 783 rushing yards.
