Senator Rand Paul was at his Kentucky home in Bowling Green mowing the lawn when suddenly he was attacked out of the blue, reportedly by a neighbor who is now in police custody.

According to the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure, Boucher is a retired physician, as of February, 2015. On his Facebook page, Boucher's previous posts have been politically charged, showing frustration with President Donald Trump.

It is not known why Boucher was in his home at the time.

He's now being held at the Warren County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

An investigation continues, police said.
