Ubisoft has released a brand new trailer for Far Cry 5 which reveals more about the game's "friends for hire" co-op mode.
Welcome to Hope County, Montana, land of the free and the courageous but also home to a fanatical doomsday cult known as Eden's Gate.
Check out the trailer below for a bit of a visual on the Friends for Hire co-op system. You'll be able to do all the open world shenanigans you can expect in a Far Cry game, like fishing, camping, and being overwhelmed by the huge number of pop-ups on your map screaming for your attention.
It's not that big a surprise seeing co-op in a game like this, though its implementation will be the big question.
Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 both had co-op elements in them, but neither comes close to the potential from this outing.
On Far Cry 4, we kind of sequestered the player to the open world. Like with many co-op titles the host will be the only one to retain the story progression, but the hired pal will keep all the loot they collected. You can get up to some truly insane stunts with a friend or even complete strangers. You will be able to invite a friend to play with you at any point during the game once you have completed the tutorial. The Friend for Hire will, however, keep player progression.

Far Cry 5 launches on the 27 of February 2018 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
While the cooperative features should satisfy players that look forward to it, Ubisoft isn't forcing it on anyone.
The game will see players taking on an evil, religious cult in its backwoods setting.
