Google will 'drop everything' -- to fix the cheese on this hamburger emoji

  • Google Cheeseburger Emoji

The debate started on Saturday when Thomas Baekdal, founder of Baekdal Media, sought a Twitter discussion on how the placement of cheese in the "burger emoji" differed on Google and Apple.

Not only did they include a tomato under the lettuce (everyone knows they are just a soggy-bun inducing disaster) but they also made the executive decision to put the cheese slice under the hamburger.

Although there may not be a "right" way to assemble a cheeseburger, some Twitter users believe Microsoft's depiction of the emoji was the most accurate.

Pichai's reaction come shortly after Baekdal's tweet reached two million twitter users. This may seem like a random fact to parse through, but it was actually at the center of a lively debate over Google's cheeseburger emoji. Does the cheese always go on top of the patty, to make sure it gets a nice melt?

Either way, it has polarised burger building opinion all over the internet, with people flocking to share their opinions of how a cheese burger should be correctly layered.

Jeff Bezos ousts Bill Gates as world's richest man
According to a report, Bill and Melinda Gates together have donated at least $35 billion since 1994. He made more than $10 billion from the one-day stock surge and is now worth well over $90 billion.

LG goes without the tomato, with a straightforward bun-lettuce-cheese-meat-bun combo, while HTC throws in a second patty, puts lettuce in the middle, and cheese above the upper patty and below the lower.

Google appears to be the only tech company that offers the cheese below the patty.

The hamburger emoji is as wrong, as it turns out, as Google's beer emoji, which somehow shows a large gap between the top of the liquid and its frothing head. The CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai, even chimed in, vowing to "drop everything" to fix it.

Let's hope Google execs don't have plans to dive into the restaurant business anytime soon.
