Get lost mom and dad! Amazon lets teens shop on their own

  • Amazon now lets teenagers shop via separate logins attached to their parents' accounts

Parents must add their teens (aged 13 to 17) to their Household account, a free process, after which point the teens are able to use their own login more or less as if it were their own independent account.

For the first time, teens can independently use the Amazon app, allowing them to shop or stream content while still keeping their parents informed.

Under Amazon's new program, teenagers can log into the site using their own credentials. Once received, the parent confirms which payment method and shipping address will be used for teens' orders. Parents will be allowed to approve all orders and set pre-approved spending limits per order. "This is a move that will get families deeper into Amazon, while also cultivating future Prime members". Amazon's default setting with this service is autoapproval of orders, but parents can individually approve them via text if they so prefer. Parents who want to avoid the approval step can set a preapproved spending limit on Amazon.

Disney puts off Jack and the Beanstalk fairy tale
We have arrived at this point with the big and, although this is a hard decision, we put an end to its development for the moment. The project was to feature original music from the Oscar-winning songwriting team of Robert LOPEZ and Kristen-Anderson Lopez.

Without an annual commitment, you have full access to more than 50 million items and Prime Video, which features unlimited streaming on thousands of movies and TV shows. "We've listened to families and have built a great experience for both teens and parents", said Michael Carr, vice president, Amazon Households.

"The teen can also include a personalized note like, 'This is the book I need for class, '" the company said. "Parents receive itemized notifications for every order and can cancel and return any item in accordance with Amazon's policies".

If you prefer to avoid handing over your credit card outright whenever your teens want or need something on Amazon, the retail giant has you covered.
