  • Saudi Arabia to Ink New Arms Deals with US, Russia

Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia have agreed on the supply of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as a number of other weapons, including the Kalashnikov AK-103.

The sale, supplied by Lockheed Martin and Raytheon - also includes 43 trucks, generators, electrical power units, communications equipment, tools, test and maintenance equipment and "personnel training and training equipment".

The transaction covers the delivery of 44 Terminal High Altitude Area Defense launchers, 360 interceptor missiles, 16 fire control and communications mobile tactical station groups and seven AN/TPY-2 radars.

Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted Saudi Arabia's King Salman for talks at the Kremlin last week during which Saudi Arabia said it had signed a memorandum of understanding on the purchase of the S-400s.

"We can speak only for ourselves", said Peskov.

The US sale has not yet "concluded", it confirmed.

Canadian Man Admits To Planning Terrorism Attacks
According to prosecutors, all three have been arrested and El Bahnasawy has already pleaded guilty following his May 2016 arrest. El Bahnasawy also spoke glowingly of a plan to 'shoot up concerts cuz they kill a lot of people, ' the indictment said.

"This sale furthers United States national security and foreign policy interests, and supports the long-term security of Saudi Arabia and the (Persian) Gulf region in the face of Iranian and other regional threats", the Pentagon's Defense Security Cooperation agency claimed in a statement.

Saudi Arabia and the United States are highly critical of what they consider Iran's aggressive behaviour in the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia typically buys its military hardware from the USA or the U.K., and the S-400 deal could signal a shift in politics as the kingdom needs Russian Federation to support oil prices.

The US deployed THAAD to South Korea this year to guard against North Korea's shorter-range missiles, which has drawn criticism from China saying that the system's powerful radar can probe deep into its territory.

Both Washington and Saudi Arabia accuse Tehran of aggressive and disruptive behavior in the region.
