He complained that Pakistan was being attacked by terrorist organizations sheltering in Afghanistan and that Pakistani cities were their steady victims.

Asked about his view on India's role in Afghanistan, Pakistan's prime minister said, "We don't foresee any political or military role for India in Afghanistan".

The two states regularly clash over the Muslim-majority region of Kashmir, under Indian control since the country's partition in 1947 but which Pakistan also claims as part of its territory.

Angered by Pakistan's use of an global platform to escalate matters, India did not wait for its turn to address the assembly on Saturday (23 September).

Earlier in the month, Pakistan-based terror groups, LeT and the JeM were mentioned in the Summit declaration of the BRICS countries of which China is also a member. All countries have the right to trade with each other, invest in each others countries.

The Pakistani Prime Minister tactfully avoided answering on relations between the Haqqani network and Pakistan's intelligence agency, the ISI. "Pakistan is now Terroristan", India said, in a statement addressed to the United Nations general assembly president.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in his own speech to the United Nations appealed to Pakistan for dialogue, saying that the neighbours can work together to eliminate militancy.

Giving some figures, Asad said the country's external debt and liabilities have increased to $9 billion since past year and now stand at $83bn, which according to the PTI leader amounts to 400pc of Pakistan's exports. He said that they had defeated the enemy in their own territory and have completely destroyed all the sanctuaries.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader Asad Umar on Friday strongly criticised Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and said the current economic policies are "sinking Pakistan into a debt trap". He stressed that in today's date there are no sanctuaries in Pakistan from which any activities take place against Afghanistan.

North Korea's mission to the United Nations did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Trump's remarks. In it, Trump wears a red "Make America Great Again" hat and tees off on a golf green.

The Pakistan Prime Minister also maintained that Islamabad was not prepared to fight the Afghan war on Pakistan's soil. He is in house arrest.

While addressing the gathering he also said that Pakistan and USA should further strengthen its relationship, despite all the differences between the two countries.

Trump has sent thousands more U.S. troops into Afghanistan in a bid to defeat the Taliban, reversing his previous calls to end America's longest-ever war.

"We have engaged with the US. It's a process that has complete civilian oversight through the NCA", Abbasi said.

As far as safety of our nuclear programme is concerned, there are reports which suggest that the quality, capacity and safety of Pakistan's nuclear programme is far better than that of our arch rival India which in recent years has made strides to further expand its nuclear capability but when it comes to the safety factor, India lags behind.

"Cross-border attacks do occur; these are mostly conducted by anti-Pakistan terrorist from safe haven across the border".

Husain Haqqani, who had served as Pakistan's envoy to the USA from 2008 to 2011, also said that the speech was directed at his own supporters back home. "That's the way it should be".

While a lot has been happening, I'd like to direct your attention towards Pak PM, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi's maiden speech.
