The boyfriend of a missing pregnant teacher from Montgomery County was arrested for her murder on Wednesday, according to Montgomery County police.

Wallen, 31, a history teacher at Wilde Lake High School in Columbia, was last heard from September 4 at her condominium in Olney.

Manger said Tessier's believed to have driven Wallen's vehicle to Columbia, and that Tessier admitted to disposing of the car's front tag, as well as Wallen's driver's license and iPhone.

"She sent a text message.saying that Tyler had taken her to an open field up in the Damascus area and she says, "I'm not sure why we're up here, but he's taken me to this place in the middle of nowhere" - something to that effect".

'Laura, if you are listening, it doesn't matter what's happened, it doesn't matter what type of trouble, there is nothing we can't fix together - myself and your family, ' Tessier said at the conference. "I know what she means to me". The acquaintance declined to assist him.

The owner of the property where Wallen's body was found has no involvement in the case and Tessier is the only suspect, Manger noted.

When Tessier spoke Monday at the news conference, in his appeal for Wallen, his voice occasionally broke as he said " We haven't slept, we haven't eaten, we're just looking, we're praying that you're safe.

Police said a breakthrough was made in the case when they determined Tessier had gone several times to the field where Wallen's body was later found, and saw that it matched with the photo she had texted her friend.

Around the same time, Tessier texted one of his acquaintances to help him "clean a mess", police said.

A pregnant teacher who went missing in Maryland last week has been found dead. Police said Wednesday that they had asked Tessier to do the press conference, calling it "a calculated decision" to see what he would reveal.

The Washington Post reported that Tessier, believed to be the father of Wallen's unborn child, admitted his engagement to police in Montgomery County.

Students and parents at Wilde Lake expressed shock and grief over the slaying of a teacher who daily greeted her students by opening her arms and wiggling them. The friend said "take a picture" and she did, " Manger said.

Wallen's alleged killer held her mother's hand as he pleaded for her to come home.

"Laura is in the loving arms of God now", her father, Mark Wallen, told a News4 reporter via text message on Wednesday. Authorities searched the property and found the woman's body.

Her boyfriend, Tyler Tessier, had stood with her parents Monday at a news conference and made a soulful plea for her safe return. He allegedly told police that he had removed and disposed of the front license plate, as well as throwing away Wallen's driver's license and cellphone in a dumpster. The victim's family gave their approval.
