  • Report: Manchester United to rival Arsenal with club-record January move for Thomas Lemar

Today, Arsenal are once again linked with Thomas Lemar...

According to reports going on in the media (Daily Star), the North Londoners are expected to sign the French global in the January window after agreeing a fee with Monaco and a 5 year deal worth 65 million pounds (€71million) with the playmaker.

Lemar is closing in on one hundred appearances for Monaco since signing from Caen in the summer of 2015 while he has scored nineteen goals - nine of which coming in the league last season as his side clinched the Ligue 1 title.

City boss Pep Guardiola refused to allow Sterling to leave for Arsenal in a straight swap with Alexis Sanchez on deadline day and wants the former Liverpool man to remain at the club.

The Daily Star is reporting that a deal with Monaco has been "agreed in principle" to bring the 21-year-old France global to The Emirates in the new year.

And amid reports the 21-year-old has already agreed terms on a £250,000 a week move to Arsenal in January, the Sunday Mirror claims United are ready to match Arsenal's offer in a shock attempt to take the player to Old Trafford.

Now, the same story in the Daily Star is claiming that Arsenal are confident of being able to sign Lemar in what would be a club-record £92m deal next year.
