  • Hurricane Irma a Category Five storm is currently battering the Caribbean

Hurricane Irma is not the only show in town.

Tropical Storm Jose, the 10th tropical storm of the season, has developed near latitude 12.3 degrees north and longitude 39.1 degrees west.

You can track the storm yourself by clicking on our First Alert Interactive Radar.

All three of these storms are a sign it's peak hurricane season.

The flurry of storm activity comes after Hurricane Harvey claimed about 60 lives and caused property damage estimated as high as $180 billion after pummeling the coasts of Texas and Louisiana with torrential rain and severe flooding. If the layer of warm water isn't at least 200 feet deep, a tropical storm could die before gaining hurricane strength.

As the hurricane approached, Sir Richard Branson refused to leave his private Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, but admitted "almost nothing" can withstand a storm of Irma's force.

Avramopoulos said the ECJ's decision is encouraging and that he hoped to reach a final compromise by the end of the year. Slovakia reacted by saying that the sentence should be complied with but that the relocation quotas do not work.

Hurricane Jose formed Wednesday in the open Atlantic, far from land and well east of Hurricane Irma. As of 5 am ET on Wednesday, maximum wind speeds were at 145 km/hr (90 mph) and these are expected to grow stronger over the next couple of days. Jose is now to the east of the island chain.

Hurricane Katia (far left) forms as Irma heads west as Jose develops in the bottom right.

Not to be forgotten, Hurricane Katia is drifting toward Mexico's gulf coast.

Philip Klotzbach, a specialist hurricane forecaster for CSU, tweeted: "'The Atlantic now has three hurricanes active at the same time: "#Irma, #Jose and #Katia.

She now is 120 miles SE of Grand Turks Island and moving WNW at 16 mph. Katia could hit southeastern Mexico by the weekend. Mexico will experience heavy rainfall and increased risk of flash floods and mudslides, most likely in the southern part of the state of Tamaulipas and northeastern part of Veracruz.

A hurricane watch was issued for Antigua and Barbuda, devastated by Irma on Tuesday night and Wednesday. The Mexican state of Veracruz has a hurricane watch in effect and the storm is now about 185 miles North-Northwest of Veracruz.
