Man charged with murder in disappearance of Temple University student

Joshua Hupperterz has been charged with murder in connection to the death after Burleigh's body was found in Wayne County near his grandmother's home - 150 miles away from Temple University where Burleigh had recently transferred as a commuter student.

Pennsylvania police have recovered the body of missing Temple University student Jenna Burleigh at a property more than 150 miles from where she was last seen in Philadelphia.

When Temple University student Natalie Abulhawa met Joshua Hupperterz for the first time previous year, he asked her if she wanted to hang out with him. Philadelphia police said Sunday a body found on property belonging to Hupperterz's relative was identified as Burleigh.

Burleigh was killed in Philadelphia, Ryan said, and the crime did not appear to be premeditated, the police source said.

Then, using a Lyft vehicle service, Burleigh's remains were taken to Wayne County, investigators said.

Burleigh's dad, Ed Burleigh, posted a sad message on his Facebook page on Saturday, saying: "Our Beautiful Angel Jenna is now in Heaven". Hupperterz is charged with: Murder, Tampering with Evidence, Abuse of Corpse; Manufacturing with the Intent to Deliver and related offenses. Charges against other individuals are possible, police said.

Moore Ave. After questioning, police obtained the search warrant for the North Philadelphia home, 6ABC reported. Her classes began last Monday.

"Those that knew Jenna described "big-hearted, ' 'hilarious" 'fiercely feminist, ' 'unapologetically herself, ' and a 'an incredibly woke young woman, '" the statement from Temple Student Government reads.

"Jenna had love for everyone no matter who they were", one friend wrote on Facebook.
