A metal-tipped arrow stopped play at the Kia Oval cricket ground yesterday when it flew into the ground and landed close to a fielder.

No injuries were reported and no arrests had been made by Thursday evening.

As the players had resumed just after tea, an object was picked up, which happened to be a fired arrow, that had come from outside the ground in South London. "All the seats are empty and everyone is indoors".
