After five weeks, Trump bristles at his altered White House

  • Gen. John Kelly is President Trump's chief of staff

Likewise, Trump's confidantes outside the White House have said that the president has used the switchboard to call them.

And so, the Daily Beast reports, Kelly has "sought to put a dent" in her influence and has been limiting her access to the President.

At this point, any position within Donald Trump's administration is subject to change.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters earlier this week that Trump "absolutely" has confidence in Tillerson. Under Kelly's management, Trump "now has time to think", as he's said repeatedly to one of his senior aides who spoke to the times.

As part of his solidification of power, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly is blocking Donald Trump confidante Omarosa Manigualt from speaking with the president because she is getting him worked up over bad news. On day 1, he already vowed that he would strictly control both access and information flow to President Trump so that from now on not a single piece of unvetted information or message would be land on the president's desk again. But Trump - who doesn't read news on the web, instead relying on TV and printouts of articles passed to him by aides - has also said he misses updates from Breitbart and The Daily Caller, far-right news outlets that Kelly has apparently removed from the mix.

Ezekiel Elliott and NFLPA take legal action against NFL
The union will attempt to persuade a court to agree that Goodell's suspension of Elliott can't stand, even if Henderson backs it. The short answer is that Elliott is looking to avoid a suspension altogether.

To the contrary, he regularly shares plaudits for him on Twitter, his favorite medium, where he assures fans Kelly is doing "a great job".

At least one current aide, Keith Schiller, the director of Oval Office Operations, has reportedly chafed at Kelly's system for calling the president. Schiller has been a constant presence at Trump's side for almost two decades and was among a handful of aides from Trump's previous life as a businessman to follow Trump onto the campaign trail and into the White House.

Schiller's planned departure comes just over a month after Kelly became chief of staff with the mission of instilling new order inside Trump's often chaotic White House.

Yet in public, Mr. Trump has not been shy in lauding Kelly, and attempted to have the retired Army general join him on stage during his recent rally in Phoenix, Arizona. Schiller has told people close to him that he will be leaving the White House at the end of September.
