The "Find the Force" event will cover 20,000 retail stores spanning 30 countries, and will run from September 1 to September 3.

The event, called Force Friday II, is only happening from September 1 to September 3, so people who are interested in collecting every possible character, including Admiral Ackbar, need to hit up a bunch of different stores and websites. Some commercial locations will participate in the augmented reality game until the December 15 release of "The Last Jedi", meaning a few fortunate fans will likely have opportunities to interact with all 15 characters, including two new figures, by late fall.

Continue below to get all the details, including info on a related sweepstakes, and to watch a video. The program will operate like a treasure hunt, with new characters from the franchise released daily. That means you can take a photo or video standing alongside the likes of Admiral Ackbar (as demonstrated in the video above).

Lucasfilm is celebrating the launch of the new "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" toy line by introducing a sort of interactive treasure hunt across the globe.
