  • Bonnie Tyler to perform Total Eclipse of the Heart during an actual total eclipse

Users who search "total eclipse" on YouTube will find the song near the top of the results along with other eclipse-related videos.

Excitement is piquing for the celestial event on Monday, and brands are jumping into the light.

Yesterday, Tyler performed on Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas, where she sang her 80s-hit song.

Thanks to the natural phenomenon of the total solar eclipse and our urge to celebrate our sky going dark when it's not supposed to be, Tyler's song is No. 1 again. To adapt to Monday's eclipse, the track was cut down to 2 minutes and 40 seconds, the time of the phenomenon. After the well-received performance, Tyler praised the group DNCE for doing great.

Released on New Year's Eve in 1982, the 34-year-old song saw a resurgence as it became the unofficial theme song for eclipse viewers across the country.

To what does she attribute the continued popularity of "Total Eclipse of the Heart"? The Welsh singer was by Joe Jonas and his band DNCE for the performance.

She's right. The last total solar eclipse to hit the U.S. was in 1991 and it only touched Hawaii. The Miami-based cruise line reached out to Tyler last September, just before calls started coming in to book the singer at other eclipse-themed functions.
