At least 60 children have died at the state-run Baba Raghav Das Medical College hospital in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh due to infections and an alleged disruption in the supply of oxygen in the pediatrics ward.

The letter was written to the hospital authorities on August 3 and 10 informing them about the shortage of oxygen cylinders as the Pushpa Sales stopped supply over pending payment. The issue of settlement of the pending money is what costed the lives of little ones.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered an inquiry and has promised "strict action against those who found responsible". However, denying the allegations, the ruling party has requested the opposition for not "politicising" the deaths.

"The BJP, under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is working towards the betterment of the people of the state".

Meanwhile, Masood Ahmed, the state unit president of the Rashtriya Lok Dal, said it was a "matter of grave concern" that the district administration and the hospital were "trying to hide their shortcomings" and demanded the resignation of state health minister Siddharth Nath Singh.

"There haven't been any deaths due to lack of oxygen supply".

Donald Trump did build these expectations, but McConnell and Republicans have been vowing to repeal Obamacare for seven years. He said the president did not understand about how quickly congress could act on uprooting the Obama Health Care Law.

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, who visited the hospital, along with party colleagues, expressed deep anguish over the deaths.

Incidentally, Gorakhpur is also a parliamentary constituency of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Shri Yogi Adityanath. A person afflicted with encephalitis requires serious medical attention according to Medical News Today.

"That's the time when the death of the children peaked", said Mritunjaya Singh, whose 7-month-old son was admitted to the hospital and was not among the dead.

She further said, "We repeatedly communicated about pending payments to concerned authorities but never got a response, ¿ adding, ¿Ours was a night supply in BRD". No reason has been given for these deaths but the Union Home Ministry said that according to the SP of Gorakhpur, 21 children died due to lack of supply of liquid oxygen.

But he said it did not cause the children's deaths as there was a sufficient number of oxygen cylinders to ensure all the youngsters could be treated. Of these, 129 children died, said Satish Chandra, a hospital spokesman.

The region is one of India's poorest and registers hundreds of child deaths each year from Japanese Encephalitis and Acute Encephalitis Syndrome, which is rife in parts of eastern and northern India.
