Now, they're following it up with Facebook Watch. Facebook has limited the number of content creators who can take advantage of the program during a testing phase.

According to a Reuters report, among the shows to be made available on the platform include Women's National Basketball Association, a parenting show made by Time Inc and a safari show by National Geographic. Facebook is already broadcasting some Major League Baseball games and that would continue, the company said.

The social Apps are getting much better with each passing day by inventing new useful features for its users.

Dubbed "Watch", the collection of videos will be available on mobile, desktop, and laptop, with live and recorded episodic shows that follow a particular theme or storyline. "Some will be made by professional creators, and others from regular people in our community", he said. The main aim will involve bringing a social aspect to video like never before allowing users to connect and discuss with each other during and after each show.

But he added that watching shows on a screen need not be a passive experience.

US users were provided with a Videos tab just over a year ago, and this seems to be the natural next step in Facebook's video plans. Now we want to make it even easier to catch up with shows you love.

Facebook hopes to keep users watching video on its apps for longer - and win more advertising dollars - by making the content more social, encouraging commenting and sharing as the shows air.

Springfield gas prices hold below Missouri average

A "What's making People Laugh" category will list shows that people have used the "haha" reaction to describe.

Watch will also single out "most talked about" videos and ones that "friends are watching".

Facebook created Watch as they want people to have a dedicated place where they can go to watch videos.

Eventually, the platform will be open to any show creator as a place to distribute video. A Watchlist feature lets you subscribe to updates on new episodes of your favorite shows.

Live shows that connect directly with fans.

The launch shows include blogger Nusseir Yassin's Nas Daily, which includes videos together with his fans from around the world, and another hosted by author and motivational speaker Gabby Bernstein. It's looking for Shows that engage with a community, live streams that help viewers feel connected, and Shows with a consistent narrative arc.
