  • Florida State football: Former WR Anquan Boldin signs with Bills

Anquan Boldin has signed reported a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills, the Bills announced Monday.

For more from Beane on Boldin, see the attached video above. Everybody was very confident the Bills were a good fit, but I knew he had other options out there.

Boldin agreed to terms last week but backed out of the deal before deciding to join the Bills this week, according to ESPN. "Sean (McDermott) and I preach family, culture and character so I think he had to talk that out with his wife and kids". "It was a family decision for Anquan and I respect the thought process they went through to make the decision". He's coming off a 2016 campaign with the Detroit Lions in which he totaled 67 catches for a career-low 584 yards, but he hauled in eight touchdowns and will give Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor another sure-handed receiving threat alongside No. 1 wideout Sammy Watkins.

Boldin was the 2003 Offensive Rookie of the Year after being taken in the second round of the draft by the Arizona Cardinals. He moved on to Baltimore in 2010 and spent three years there, helping the Ravens win the championship following the 2012 season.

In 2008, he helped the Ravens bring home a Super Bowl title, scoring four touchdowns in four playoff games. He was a part-time player with the Lions last season, and still was a valuable asset. He is ninth in National Football League history in receptions (1,076). "In my opinion, he's a Hall of Famer and he'll teach guys how to be a pro".
