The top US diplomat said he thinks President Donald Trump "accepts" the overwhelming vote by Congress, and will sign the bill into law. The Senate last week approved new sanctions against Russia، Iran and North Korea that are now waiting for President Donald to sign into law.

"We are not your threat", he said Tuesday.

Tillerson's trip also presents an opportunity for the Trump administration to expand its engagement with key bilateral allies and partners in the subregion that are important to the advancement of USA interests.

Thornton said China had taken "significant steps, . frankly unprecedented steps" to increase pressure on its neighbor North Korea, but it could do "a lot more" to step up enforcement of existing sanctions and to impose more.

Noting that relations between the two countries were at an historic low since the end of the Cold War، Tillerson said he would meet his Russian counterpart، Sergey Lavrov، next week to discuss ways to improve ties in light of the new Russian sanctions bill passed by the U.S. Senate.

"I told President Putin when I saw him in the Kremlin in March and I've told Foreign Minister Lavrov repeatedly, "The situation's bad, but believe me, it can get worse" and it just did", Tillerson said. Trump has expressed frustration over Congress' ability to limit or override the power of the White House on national security matters, saying that it is complicating efforts to coordinate with allies - a sentiment he expressed in Wednesday's statement.

Turnaround Strategy Is Working: Sony Nearly Quadruples Profit
Net Sales - 1.98 trillion yen ($17.92 billion) in net sales , up 4.76% from April's 1.89 trillion yen ($17.10 billion) forecast. Sony said it is on course to achieve a sales target of 18 million for the year through March.

Tillerson addressed the press with a rare appearance at Tuesday's State Department briefing, where he talked about his first six months as secretary of state and answered a few questions.

Congress has given $80 million to the State Department to fight Russian propaganda and misinformation, but Secretary of State Rex Tillerson reportedly is reluctant to put it to use.

China does account for 90 per cent of economic activity with North Korea, Tillerson said, adding that the Chinese have been very clear with the U.S. that they share the same objective of a denuclearised Korean Peninsula. "But the president and our Congress are unified in our message to Russian Federation: A better relationship - the lifting of sanctions - will require Russian Federation to reverse the actions that caused the sanctions to be imposed in the first place, and not before". Does it make our life more hard? It means that the total number of USA diplomatic personnel is to be cut to 455.

Some officials said that Tillerson may not understand the details of the funding or he may not be aware of what his aides are doing.

Tillerson said he plans to meet Lavrov on the sidelines of a regional summit in Manila, Philippines.
