The four young victims, who went missing last week, were lured to the remote property with promises of buying marijuana, but they were shot and killed, and buried in graves dug by a backhoe, according to the Bucks County, Pennsylvania, district attorney.
The identities of the other human remains found on the farm have not been released.
The suspect killed the four separately after feeling cheated or threatened after selling them marijuana, a person with firsthand knowledge of the confession told the Associated Press, the news service reported Thursday.
Those sources tell FOX 29 the second person of interest who was taken into custody in North Philadelphia last night has been identified as 20-year-old Sean Kratz.
He was charged in December 2016 with burglary, criminal trespassing, theft receiving stolen property and other charges and posted 10 percent of the $10,000 bail in March, the Inquirer reported.
DiNardo has agreed to plead guilty to four first-degree murder counts, his attorney said. Weintraub said as part of his confession agreement, DiNardo told investigators where to find Patrick's body.
On Friday, even with Dinardo in custody, the extent and conditions of his apparent plea deal remained unknown, and he had not been charged in connection with the killings. In exchange for that confession, prosecutors agreed not to seek the death penalty against him.
Data from a police license plate reader captured Dinardo's pickup and Meo's vehicle driving in Solebury Township within seconds of each other at 7:49 p.m. Friday, court documents said.
Family members of the missing men are holding out hope.
FBI investigators are using machinery to dig out an area identified by cadaver dogs on a 90-acre farm.
The district attorney has said it is now a homicide investigation.
Authorities had charged DiNardo earlier this year with having a gun despite an involuntary mental health commitment.
But as for a motive to explain what led the pair to a series of killings that have gripped Philadelphia and much of the region for the past week, Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub had no explanations to offer.
A week later while being interviewed a second time by police, DiNardo told investigators he arranged an $8,000 marijuana deal with Patrick on July 5. Wednesday, authorities arrested 20 year old Cosmo Dinardo on charges he tried to sell one of the missing men's cars a day after he was last seen.
"We have recovered several important pieces of evidence at this site, and at other locations", Weintraub said Wednesday as the search resumed for a fourth day. Finocchiaro, along with 21-year-old Thomas Meo and 22-year-old Mark Sturgis, has been missing since July 7. Acquaintances and friends told reporters that DiNardo had been involved in an ATV accident some seven months prior to the killings and that ever since, something had been "off" with him. Online records suggest he attended the same Catholic high school as Patrick but was a year ahead. DiNardo also told investigators where the bodies are.
Dinardo said he gave Kratz a.357 handgun belonging to his mother, and then drove all three to the Solebury property.
An attorney for DiNardo's parents, Antonio and Sandra DiNardo, issued a statement Wednesday saying the couple sympathize with the families of the missing men and are cooperating "in every way possible with the investigation".
Saxonburg Police Chief Joseph Beachem added, "The biggest question in the history of Saxonburg has been answered". Webb's remains were found buried in the back of the property located at 28 Maplecrest Drive, North Dartmouth.
