The next update for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is going to be a big one.

Brendan "Playerunknown" Greene, after saying that it's not as easy as flipping a switch when it comes to first-person servers, has returned bearing good news. The update is set to roll out first for NA/EU solo and duo matches, and will come to other regions in the future.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will soon get a server that will limit players to first-person mode, presenting a tougher challenge for hardcore gamers.

Players will not be forced to play on these servers, indicating that they will be some sort of column of matches that players can opt into (just like custom matches are now).

First person in PUBG is a little more daunting than third person as the view point constrains what you can see, naturally.

Why is that? When you're playing in third-person mode, the camera's position allows you do things like look around corners and over cover without exposing yourself to danger or giving away your position.

They are set to be added to the game in the next update, and will not be replacing old servers but adding new ones. The existence of the FOV slider is directly tied to the game's first-person view, prompting many to think ahead to dedicated first-person mode servers.
