Brides scramble to secure dresses in sudden closing of Alfred Angelo stores

"Any bride that needs a wedding dress can come in here and I will totally mark it down", said McIntyre. Alfred Angelo has not confirmed that all of its stores will close.
Brides who purchased their wedding dresses through one of Alfred Angelo's free-standing retail locations in the US and have learned that their dress will not arrive as promised, will be given 30% off the current price of all gowns available at David's Bridal. She said, "Keep your chin up".
Some of the brides we spoke with say the employees at the store when we visited were there not even getting paid by the corporate company, but showed up to help as many people as possible.
She found out all about this while watching FOX 5 News at the gym Thursday evening and immediately headed over to the Springfield store.
"I'm just over all of this", she said.

WZZM in Grand Rapids, MI, reported finding a sign on the door of the closed store there saying that brides and bridesmaids should send an email to an attorney at Stearns Weaver Miller law firm's office in Miami, FL.
"I actually didn't get a call", said Nancy Lofton, bride.
Alfred Angelo employees themselves were told of the closure Thursday during a conference call.
"We thought it was a hoax on the Internet", she said. Brides and bridesmaids were rushing to Alfred Angelo locations hoping that the dresses they had paid for would be there.
"They called my bridesmaids this morning and I get frantic phone calls", said Cassidy, a bride who didn't want to reveal her last name.
Other customers who ordered their dresses online have not received their items at all.
Media outlets in Massachusetts, Florida and Pennsylvania were all reporting the chain's stores are closing today.
