  • Halo 5 4K Update Confirmed For Xbox One X

That's right, Halo 5: Guardians is getting a 4K makeover.

In other words, that's all we know: Halo 5 will not be remastered or re-released for Xbox One X. Instead the existing game will simply be updated to support 4K graphics on Xbox One X only. Seeing as Halo is one of Microsoft's flagship franchises, it's no surprise that it will be one of the first titles (even if it's an older release) to showcase some of the power of Xbox One X.

Additionally, 343 also revealed today that a slew of Xbox 360 era Halo games will soon be arriving on the Xbox One through the backward compatibility program. Leading things off was words of Halo 5's 4K upgrade on the Xbox One X, something 343 admitted that it wasn't quite ready to commit to a few weeks ago at E3 in Los Angeles. While all of these games are already available on the Xbox One through the Master Chief Collection, this gives fans way more options to play.

"Today we are excited to officially confirm that Halo 5 will receive a game update to support true 4K with the release of Xbox One X later this year!"

Fireworks blamed for Boone County house fire
The home's resident told investigators he was awakened by banging on his front door and someone yelling the house was on fire. Hersheypark apologized for the cancellation, and the town thanked its fire department for containing the fire so quickly.

As an added bonus, the Xbox Store will offer "every Xbox 360 Halo add-on map pack" for free.

2017 also marks the 10-year anniversary of Halo 3. The team said that this is being built from scratch based on a selection of community-made Halo 3 maps created with Forge in Halo 5.

The fact that there are new Halo backwards compatible titles is both good and bad for a lot of Halo fans. Microsoft has not yet opened pre-order for the new most powerful video game console due to missing FCC approval.
