White House shared the salaries of its staffers

Women who work at the White House earn less than men - an average of 80 cents to every dollar to be exact, according to a new report.

Around 47 percent of the 359 regular employees at the White House are women - and 53 per cent men.

Of the 22 employees making the highest salary of $179,700, only six were found to be women.

Surely, she must be working hard to make sure the gap is closed and that the White House presents itself as an example to the American labor economy.

More women are filling lower-ranked jobs at the White House, according to the report and CNN pointed out that half the men in the White House earn $95,000 or more per year, while half the women earn $70,100 or less.

Half the 200 men working at the White House make $115,000 or more annually, while half the 177 women earn $75,000 a year or less.

The information used in the analysis came from the White House's annual report to Congress, which was released Friday and contains payroll information for White House staffers. Men earn about $106,000 a year, while women bring home roughly $73,000.

The total 377 staffers, who also include First Daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner who both receive nothing for their role of special advisors to the president, represent a "slimmer" White House than President Barack Obama's final year staff of 472 (down from 487 in his first year).
