Ivanka Trump listens to her husband, White House senior adviser Jared Kushner as he speaks at the opening session of the White House meeting with technology Chief Executive Officers to mark "technology week", Monday, June 19, 2017, in the Indian Treat Room of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building part on the White House complex in Washington.

President Trump will meet today with the CEOs of nearly 20 tech companies, including Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Adobe, IBM, Intel, Microsoft and Qualcom.

Apple is also expected to argue that immigration is important to the American economy, as well as weighing in on how to better support military veterans, and express a pro-human rights view, Axios reports.

In May, Trump created an "American Technology Council", the latest in a series of efforts to modernize the US government.

The methods already being considered for this objective by the administration include cutting government information technology costs, reducing government costs through improved IT services, leveraging government buying power, and reducing fraud across government agencies.

The White House is hosting a summit Monday with top talent in technology.

Castile's taillight was out; Yanez also testified he thought Castile resembled a suspect in a recent convenience store robbery. Reynolds pulled out her cellphone and began live-streaming the shooting's aftermath on Facebook as Castile bled to death.

Trump senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner welcomed technology executives to the White House on Monday for an afternoon of working groups. They will meet with President Trump to discuss how the government can begin to cut waste and improve other services.

Those in attendance will include Apple CEO Tim Cook, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Oracle co-CEO Safra Catz and IBM CEO Ginni Rometty, CBS News reported. "Many of our federal systems are decades old, with our 10 oldest being between 39 and 56 years old".

Musk, who had previously defended his decision to join the councils as taking a necessity seat at the table, was criticized on Twitter for going back on his word.

The White House official insisted that there has been "virtually no fallback" from Trump's Paris Agreement decision.

Chris Liddell, a White House aide who directs the technology effort, said the executives would participate in a series of working groups, concluding with a session with Trump. A memo sent to the leaders ahead of the meeting said applying for government benefits should be as simple as depositing "a check on your phone", according to The Wall Street Journal. The program allows the government to temporarily admit skilled foreign workers in specialty occupations - and many of them are employed by tech companies.
