Dani Alves close to Manchester City transfer after talks this week

  • Time for Daniel Levy to become serious about Daniel Alves

The two worked for four years and won 14 trophies at Barcelona, and Alves was one of Guardiola's favorite players during that time.

Alves was part of the Juventus side that lost 4-1 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final at the Millennium Stadium earlier this month.

Alves, 34, is in the final year of a two-year contract with Juventus and could be available for as little as £5 million.

The Brazil worldwide right-back may be 34 year of age, but the former Sevilla is still at the top of his game and was a massive success at Juventus during the 2016-17 season.

Manchester City are reportedly inching closer to securing the services of Dani Alves from Juventus in the summer.

Mexico snatch draw with Portugal in Confederations Cup
Raphael Guerreiro miskicked a cross into the box, allowing Carlos Vela to play the ball back in for Hernandez to score. Portugal had a first-half goal by Nani disallowed after a video review, when the game was still scoreless.

Given that City were happy to let Bacary Sagna and Gaël Clichy leave on a free when their contracts expire, it's clear that the right-back position is one where Guardiola will need to strengthen.

Chelsea also covet him while Guardiola would not mind including the talented youngster in his squad for next season. I'll say it again: a genius. It now remains to be seen if City are able to strike a deal for Alves, with the Brazil global looking set for a move away from Juventus this summer. I still hope I am going to move to the Premier League one day.

Alves could soon be wearing the blue of City, even though he was unaware of their existence a few years ago. If you turn the word "football" backwards, it spells "Pep'".
