Trump lashes out at 'bad,' 'conflicted' Russia investigators

After meeting with Mueller in a classified session, the leaders of the Senate panel indicated that their inquiry would steer clear of obstruction of justice to focus instead on Russian Federation meddling in the elections - and whether there was any Trump campaign collusion with officials tied to the Kremlin.

President Donald Trump lashed out on Thursday after a report that he was under investigation for possible obstruction of justice and he dismissed as "phony" the idea his campaign colluded with any Russian effort to sway the 2016 USA election.

Harvard law professor Noah Feldman argues in a Bloomberg View article that Trump's tweet could force Rosenstein's recusal because of his suggestion that Comey's firing was Rosenstein's idea. "Sad!" Trump tweeted Friday morning.

"After 7 months of investigations & committee hearings about my 'collusion with the Russians, ' nobody has been able to show any proof".

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who appointed Mueller last month, testified Tuesday he has seen no evidence of good cause to fire Mueller.

Pence has seldom addressed the Russian Federation issue, which has overshadowed Trump's White House agenda.

"Mueller is now clearly the (tip) of the deep state spear aimed at destroying or at a minimum undermining and crippling the Trump presidency", Gingrich tweeted on Thursday.

Vidal and Vargas make the difference for Chile after VAR controversy
The best chance of the opening 45 minutes fell to Vargas after he was played through by Vidal's pass, but he blazed over. Sanchez provided the cross for Arturo Vidal to head home their 81st minute opener and inspired the second goal as well.

Trump's young presidency has been battered by allegations - under investigation both by Congress and the FBI - that Russian Federation interfered to sway the November election in his favor.

The President complained the probe was unfair and wondered why his defeated Democratic opponent was not getting the same scrutiny. "Nice", Mr Trump wrote in his first tweet. "Witch Hunt", Trump stated in a Twitter message.

Vice President Mike Pence on Thursday hired his own lawyer to represent him in the special counsel's Russian Federation investigation.

The Mueller investigation appeared to be reaching a broadening circle of current and former officials.

Mueller is also investigating Trump for obstruction of justice, the Post reported Wednesday.

When The Washington Post reported this week that Mueller was investigating Trump for obstruction of justice, a spokesman for the President's private attorney called the leak "outrageous, inexcusable and illegal". Comey painted a picture of an overbearing President he did not trust and who pressured him to stop the Federal Bureau of Investigation probe of Flynn.

Durbin, speaking on WGN radio, said he hoped the response to Trump firing Mueller would be bipartisan if it occurred. Trump allegedly asked Coats whether he could convince now-ousted FBI Director James B. Comey to back off its probe of fired national security adviser Michael Flynn, the Post reported.
