  • US Soldiers Wounded in Afghanistan in Possible Insider Attack

One Afghan soldier has been killed and several us troops wounded in a shooting incident at Camp Shaheen in Mazar-e Sharif, according to USA military officials in Kabul.

"At this time we can confirm there are no USA or NATO Resolute Support fatalities", the global coalition said in a statement.

It was the second insider "blue on blue" attack in a week, after an Afghan soldier turned his weapon on USA soldiers and killed three of them last Saturday.

Last week, a Taliban infiltrator in the Afghan army shot two US soldiers dead before being killed. In that case Mujahid claimed that the shooter was a Taliban loyalist who infiltrated the army specifically to seek out opportunities to attack foreign soldiers.

The Pentagon said in a statement that US service members were wounded and "evacuated for treatment". "At this time we can confirm there are no USA or NATO Resolute Support fatalities".

Britain-EU Brexit talks to start Monday as planned
Northern Ireland's frontier with the Republic of Ireland will be the UK's only land border with the European Union after Brexit. Barnier dismissed the suggestion of postponing the negotiations and said such a delay would only prompt further instability.

Similar incidents have also plagued Afghan troops, depleting morale and causing mistrust within security ranks.

It is learned the Afghan soldier fired three rocket-propelled grenades and later continued with two M4 carbines.

An Afghan soldier is alleged to have fired inside a military compound in northern Afghanistan and injured about seven United States troops.

Muhammad Radmanish, a spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Defense, said that the attacker was shot dead by foreign forces, and stressed that an investigation into the incident had been opened.
