WANG: Later, the deputies from the local sheriff's department arrived. "I can't wrap my head around it", Hodgkinson said.

Sue Hodgkinson asked for privacy for herself, her daughters and her neighbors. Brooks and Duncan were at the practice when Hodgkinson opened fire. A congressional staffer, Zach Barth, was shot in the leg; he was released from the hospital Wednesday afternoon, the Post reports. On Behind the Headlines on St. Louis on the Air, host Don Marsh speaks with GOP Rep. Mike Bost and Belleville-News Democrat Dana Rieck about it. He was one of four wounded by a gunman Wednesday in an attack on a Republican team practice in Virginia.

Hodgkinson's social media posts painted a picture of disdain for the Republican Party and President Trump.

"It's just very freaky to think that this guy who was just sitting in there for weeks, not really doing anything, actually turned out to shoot at people", Brennwald told Reuters.

"I had no idea this was going to happen, and I don't know what to say about it", she said with difficulty, through tears.

The baseball tradition is said to have forged a friendship between Richmond and fellow Louisiana Rep. Scalise. Two of the police officers were shot by Hodgkinson before he was fatally shot.

The FBI has contacted the congressmen to inform them of their inclusion on the list.

"If he were to give us some kind of indication that he was mental or if he was out there target practicing for some other reason, then we would have looked further", Watson said.

Surely we as a nation can resolve our differences without sinking to that level.

Tyson Worker Hurt in Congressional Ball Practice Shooting
The Republican congressional baseball team was practicing on a suburban Virginia field Wednesday when James T. The company says Matt Mika is a director of government relations in its Washington , D.C. office.

"I was a little shocked out of all the cities in the United States it would be a little Midwest town like this", said Claire Hatch, a lifelong resident. But others in Belleville say it's just not a political town. And she wouldn't go into anything about his politics but did add this detail that he sold everything he owned from his businesses.

"I know he wasn't happy with the way things were going, the election results and stuff", the shooter's brother told the newspaper.

As a home inspector, Hodgkinson got attention for helping hurricane victims in Florida in 2004.

His Facebook page shows he was a fan of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders's left-wing populist movement, The New York Times is reporting.

Hodgkinson apparently wrote many letters to the editor of his local newspaper, the Belleville News-Democrat, which published almost two dozen of them between 2010 and 2012. Many included complaints about the same theme: income inequality. Officials also said he had a history of run-ins with the law, including arrests for battery and drunken driving. The charges were dismissed later that year, according to the court clerk.

It seems Hodgkinson's opinions haven't changed much in the past 6 years. When he went outside, he saw Hodgkinson shooting a rifle into a cornfield.

"I didn't sense anything ill about him". One was Joe Theismann's Restaurant, where staffers said one waitress recalled seeing Hodgkinson.

James Hodgkinson was expected home soon because he had run out of money.
