Graduation season is upon us, and this year, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is one of the many high profile figures who was tapped to make a commencement speech - at his erstwhile alma mater Harvard.
"My dad took this video when I got accepted to Harvard", Mark captioned the video. Originally, Zuckerberg was set to graduate from the university in 2006, but dropped out to start his now multi-billion dollar social media company. "Next week I'm going back for commencement to get my degree", the 33-year-old billionaire wrote as a caption.
The video shows Zuckerberg in his pajamas, sitting at the edge of his bed and staring into the glare of his computer screen, as he prepares to open an e-mail from the Cambridge school. "I got accepted", were the words he first said when he found he got accepted into the elite university.
You can hear the once ubiquitous AOL instant messenger chimes as Zuckerberg presumably blasted the good news to his friends. The video has now gone viral with 3.5 million views in less than 15 hours since it was uploaded.
"Yay, I got accepted", he says quietly before giving a fist pump.
"There is an email from Harvard, is that correct?" the elder Zuckerberg asks. "They've been waiting for me to get a degree for a long time".
