  • OVERKILL's The Walking Dead Postponed Until 2018

Overkill Software, who's most known for Payday 2, is now developing a shooter based in The Walking Dead franchise but not much is actually known about the project.

Starbreeze are clearly trying wrestle the "Game announced way, way to early" crown away from Ubisoft as Overkill's take on The Walking Dead has been delayed.

Overkill's The Walking Dead was originally expected to launch back in 2016 but was delayed to late 2017.

Happy Star Wars Day!
Today will be filled with Star Wars references and awful Yoda and Chewy impressions, but also a lot of deals and a lot of fandom. But all the franchise's live-action movie premieres in May, past and future take place in the latter weeks of the month.

In a press release, CEO Bo Andersson Klint said that the development team had chose to extend production schedule to allow the game to reach its "full potential" and drive the team's vision "a step further".

According to allegations made by the CEO of Stabreeze, Bo Andersson Klint, the delay will be necessary in order for the game to achieve its full potential. Unfortunately the press release is in Swedish but it basically says that Overkill's The Walking Dead is being pushed back to the second half of 2018 next year.

Stay tuned to Gameranx to for more news on the highly anticipated Overkill's The Walking Dead. Beyond that, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman has previously expressed his own excitement about the project. We'll let you know what first details come from the game when it's revealed from the live stream this Tuesday.
