This year Facebook is poised to show off what it meant.

According to Business Insider, that could include camera drones, augmented reality and brain-scanning technology.

Think Pokemon Go but on steroids.

"We all know where we want augmented reality to get: glasses or eventually contact lenses that look and feel normal, and let you overlay all kinds of information and digital content on the real world".

Facebook's new camera update already uses some of this "augmented reality", like animated mustaches and glitter beards. When viewed through the camera, the digital objects interacted with the physical objects as if they were in the same dimension - so the balls bounced off the walls and the Skittles settled on the floor.

"We are clearly in a visual world". "Facebook takes some pretty big swings at the fence and they strike out a lot", said Patrick Moorhead, president and principal analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy.

Sorry Snapchat, Facebook isn't going to quit. Facebook will be opening up the camera impacts stage to programming designers. "People already have cameras and are used to having fun and being creative with them", he said. It's centered around making encounters that will on a very basic level change how individuals interface with each other and the physical world.

Donald Trump predicts greatness for new Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch
Senate Democrats had adopted a similar majority rules maneuver in 2013 for lower-level judicial and executive branch candidates. The president is predicting Gorsuch will go down as "one of the truly great justices" in the court's history.

Zuckerberg also admits that he was slow to catch onto the idea, and stopped just short of giving Snapchat credit for identifying the trend. "This will give people a chance to experience augmented reality in a way that isn't so scary or off-putting".

Facebook is using its new camera tools to launch its own augmented reality platform. It's also likely to show off new augmented reality experiences it has created and those being created by a select group of outside developers.

F8 hosts more than 4,000 people in person and hundreds of thousands of people watching via Facebook Live for two days of new products, tools, interactive demos and speakers to help developers build, grow and monetize their apps.

One way to lure developers is with F8, an annual rite created to dazzle, this year more than ever. It will be the third year in a row that Facebook has held the conference, after taking a few hiatuses since launching the event back in 2007.

Developers from Brazil, France, India and Mexico are to gather Tuesday and Wednesday at F8, looking for new tools and features for Facebook's biggest products - its flagship social network, Instagram, the mobile photo sharing service; and WhatsApp, the instant messaging service Facebook acquired in 2014.

On the second day of the conference, Facebook will tease futuristic gadgets, some of which are being cooked up in a secretive lab called Building 8 run by former Google executive and head of DARPA Regina Dugan. Building 8 has been loading up on specialists in customer hardware, neuroscience, and mechanical autonomy and PC vision.
