Mesut Ozil: Champions League spot more important than my Arsenal future

"Arsene Wenger's the only football person there".

The Old Lady completely outclassed the Catalan club in the Champions League quarter-final first-leg, and in truth it could, and should, have been more.

When then asked about Wenger - who brought him to Arsenal from Real Madrid in a club-record deal in 2013 - Ozil added: "As a player you can not pick your coach". There is no alternative power structure in place, no system ready to tick along regardless of who is manager. It's usually been the manager that's taken the brunt, but the players really got it.

"I've always said he [Wenger] was the most important factor in me coming here".

Wenger himself is out of contract at the end of this season and has yet to announce whether he will sign a new deal amid protests against him doing so.

Overmars is someone who has excelled in the role at Ajax and would bring continuity to the club with Wenger absent.

Cavaliers to sign Dahntay Jones for playoffs
In his last 10 games, he's averaging 10 and 4 while shooting 48%. "We just want the playoffs to come". Josh Richardson scored 19 points while James Johnson had 16 and Goran Dragic added 15.

One of the big stories in the Sun on Thursday centres on the eternal question of who will be in charge of Arsenal at the start of next season.

For some Arsenal supporters, you get the feeling that even if the team went unbeaten between now and the end of the season they would still want Arsene Wenger's tenure to end.

However the Gunners are without a league title since the Invincibles in 2003/04, and many fans have decided that Wenger's time is up.

"Now are they very far". The latest reports suggest that former Gooner Marc Overmars is a possible name that could be considered by the club and it is certainly an intriguing prospect.

It'd be wise for Wenger to leave at the end of this season no matter what happens and allow somebody else to take over and try anew with the club but it seems that Wenger's pride and his ego will mean that he stays around for a further two years because he believes that he can fix the mess that Arsenal now find themselves in.
