  • Chicago Police Department Superintendent Eddie Johnson stands with 10th District officers as he talks with reporters about charging the first of several juvenile offenders from the March 19 criminal sexual assault incident broadcast on Facebook

A 15-year-old boy wanted in connection to the gang rape of a 15-year-old girl that was broadcast on Facebook Live has turned himself in, police confirmed Monday, making him the second juvenile to be arrested in the case.

The 14-year-old boy is accused of telling the victim she could "have sex the easy way or the hard way", according to the Associated Press.

The boys in custody were ordered held in juvenile detention pending trial on charges of criminal sexual assault and distributing child pornography, according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.

Police Supt. Eddie Johnson, at the same news conference expressed disgust over the sexual assault incident and another that took place earlier this year when a mentally disabled man was kidnapped and his assailants streamed his assault on Facebook Live.

Police are also trying to identify others who took part in the assault, officials said, but the investigation has been slowed by the trauma experienced by the girl.

The mother of the 15-year-old suspect brought her son to a Chicago police station on Monday afternoon after police had issued a warrant for his arrest. The Chicago Sun-Times later reported that the girl's family had been relocated.

Dates for Packers offseason workouts announced
On another note, the offseason workouts will be the first chance for fans to see new receiver Alshon Jeffery in midnight green. Though teams are still not allowed to have live contact, they may conduct 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills.

The teen's mother told him her daughter had been missing for 24 hours and she showed Johnson screengrabs of the live broadcast, police said.

Guglielmi said Johnson was "visibly upset" after he watched, both by the video's content and the fact that there were "40 or so live viewers and no one thought to call authorities". Investigators said she was lured to a home by one of her attackers, who did not allow her to leave.

"Our message to those families of the remaining juvenile offenders is to do the right thing for this young girl and bring them in to detectives to be questioned", Guglielmi wrote The Post in an email. It was also recorded on cell phones, said police.

Police superintendent Eddie Johnson condemned the attack at a news conference Sunday at the Chicago Police headquarters. "Sometimes you just have to give a person time to go to counseling or therapy, because you know they're breaking down. They humiliated themselves, humiliated their families, and now they're going to be held accountable for what they did".

Police have moved the girl, whom they describe as "traumatized", to a home outside the neighborhood. Police said more arrests should be coming.
