Ricardo Medina, 38, faces up to six years in prison for the bloody death of his roommate, Josh Sutter, in 2015, reports TMZ.

When their fight got physical, Medina picked up a sword they had and repeatedly stabbed Sutter, who died shortly thereafter. Instead, the actor will face six years in prison at his sentencing on March 30 in Antelope Valley Superior Court. Medina's attorney claimed the stabbing was in self-defense.

Medina had initially entered a no contest plea on his manslaughter charge before amending it to guilty, the DA's office said.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Sutter moved to Los Angeles in 2011 to help his sister, who specializes in selling rescued dogs.
