On Friday evening, the Jets signed OT Kelvin Beachum to a 3-year/$24M deal with $12 million guaranteed. During his three seasons with the Cardinals, he connected on 84.8 percent of his field goal attempts. Catanzaro, who signed with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson in 2014, was one of the better kickers in the National Football League his first two seasons. Beachum appeared in 15 games a year ago for the Jaguars, playing 1,023 snaps, and spent the previous four seasons in Pittsburgh. He was 28 of 31 on field goals - including making 19 straight - and he tied the franchise record with 53 extra points in 2015. Prior to his single season in Jacksonville, he spent the first four seasons of his career as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, starting 39 of the 44 games he played with the team. He ended up signing a one-year, $5-million deal with Jacksonville that included a four-year option. Will the Jets' decision to go cheaper at left tackle - Beachum as opposed to Okung - work out? They also gave second-round tenders to center Wesley Johnson and cornerback Marcus Williams, both restricted free agents.
