"Eman successfully underwent a Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy on March 7th 2017 at Saifee Hospital".

The story of this woman who had not been able to leave her home for 25 years had traveled around the world and moved an Indian surgeon who had proposed in the autumn to operate. The rest of the treatment for the medical team will consist in correcting all the associated medical problems and putting her back in sufficient condition so that she can go back to Egypt as soon as possible, "the text continues".

Lakdawala's team has revealed that Eman is now on oral fluids and is accepting them well. Once her condition stabilises, we will send her back home.

They are also awaiting Ms Ahmed's genetic test results to understand if a genetic disorder might be responsible for obesity. She is believed to be around 400kgs before going for the surgery.

On her arrival, Ms Ahmed's body mass index was 252-ten times the normal limit and water accounted to up to 15 stone of her total weight. The diet helped her drop 14 pounds a day.

She was born weighing a staggering 11 lbs and was shortly diagnosed afterwards with the parasitic disease called Elephantiasis. She has now reportedly lost more than 100kg.
