Blue Origin's next-generation rocket on the works - New Armstrong - will be cherishing the memory of the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong. United Launch Alliance also plans to use BE-4 to power its new rocket, the Vulcan. One is the reusable nature of the vehicle New Glenn, similar to the Falcon 9 vehicle of SpaceX.

After remaining tight-lipped about its upcoming project, Blue Origin has unveiled its' New Glenn rocket to the public, with it expected to soar into the skies for the first time in 2019.

Yeah, it looks pretty much exactly like how SpaceX does it.

There is something inherently exciting about watching a rocket takeoff and land.

Animations are cool and all, but when will this sucker take to the skies? The company plans to launch five satellites over the next four years, according to its website. It's a major milestone for Blue Origin, which has been working on this crucial piece of hardware since 2011. And they already have their first customer - Eutelsat. He has reportedly plowed more than $500 million into Blue Origin, which has only received a small amount of funding from NASA. That's an important date, since USA law mandates that the government stop using Russian-built engines by 2019, and substantial business will likely flow to whatever company is ready to fill the void.

Severe storms, tornadoes expected to return to Midwest

Bezos was pumped to have one of the leading satellite operators signed on as a customer.

Rodolphe Belmer, Eutelsat CEO, said he expects the first satellite launch to take place in 2021. "Welcome to the launch manifest, Eutelsat, can't wait to fly together", said Bezos. This morning, CEO Jeff Bezos tweeted out two pictures of the finished engine, noting that two more fully assembled BE-4s will be ready soon. The engine gives a force of propulsion equivalent to 1.1 million pounds which is massive. When completed, the New Glenn will use seven BE-4 engines.

But the New Glenn may not be the only rocket sporting the BE-4 engine in the future. He did not clarify where the BE-4 is headed, but the likeliest destination is Blue Origin's test site in West Texas.

Blue Origin is building a New Glenn rocket factory at Kennedy Space Center's Exploration Park on Merritt Island.

On March 7 during the Satellite 2017 Convention in Washington D.C. Blue Origin announced that they have entered into a contract with Eutelsat Communications for a launch on the New Glenn rocket that is expected to initiate flights in 2020.

NASA weather satellite sends striking lightning images
The satellite is on a mission to monitor Earth weather, but it also specializes in tracking lightning strikes and thunderstorms. That means it travels as fast, and in the same direction, as the earth spins, so it stays at the same spot above the equator.
