The film hit the theaters in India on 3rd March, Friday. This is higher than the $53.1 million opening that The Wolverine got back in 2013.

Yep, Wolverine is dead and buried by the end of Logan.

Liev Schreiber - who played the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine - later revealed that he'd be keen on returning as Victor Creed, and had been speaking with Jackman about that very possibility, but as we now know it ultimately came to nothing.

Mangold finally made a superhero film that he could be wholly proud of, and the box office has responded in kind. The comic book series is so good because you've had so many people interpreting this role. In part, this was largely because both films had to adhere to a PG-13 rating.

The people who came here are here because they made bad choices and they're violent. "That's why they're in prison". All of the inmates are in the general population of the prison, but are being held in the highest security.

The movie took in an estimated $85.3 million, according to Exhibitor Relations, setting the record for the biggest-ever R-rated opening weekend at the box office in March. He has publicly stated that he intends to hang up Wolverine's claws. This gives the film a grand total of $237,800,000 in box office receipts so far. Adjusting for inflation though, the 2009 movie performed better, although it's likely Logan will have stronger legs since it's not getting critically panned. The movie is already touching $80 million on the U.S. box office and has garnered good reviews from the critics as well.

Check out this interview with "Logan" star Hugh Jackman, who discusses playing Wolverine for the final time, describing the film as a love letter to fans of "The X-Men" films. First the openers: Fox took Logan out to a very wide 4,071 venues, as they looked to get as many eyeballs on Wolverine prior to Kong: Skull Island opening next weekend.

The news of this nearly broke the internet all over India as X-Men, Wolverine and Shah Rukh fans in our country began to voice their opinions about Hugh Jackman's latest statement. Xavier's declining mental and physical health (he's in his 90s now) and Logan's ageing body nearly make us feel sorry for the two characters.
