"There is only one Sugar Ray Leonard", he says. It is the third unification between undefeated welterweights in boxing history, and the first since Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya in 1999.

A combined record of 60-0, with 41 knockouts.

And with the 147-pound division as one of the hottest in the sport, Garcia and Thurman became the anticipated fight and NY as the host. No, I'm not quite ready to make that over-statement. On paper, Thurman has the slight edge considering his confident style, his lengthy time away from the ring and due to the confidence he undoubtedly still has with his win over Porter at Barclays. Garcia carries himself as if he's Philadelphia's welterweight version of former heavyweight champ "Smokin" Joe Frazier. His left hook can do damage if landed. Conversely, Thurman believes he owns a right hand that is the equivalent of Earnie Shavers at welterweight.

"I'm living the dream I've always wanted to live", said Thurman, the WBA 147-pound champion.

Thurman weighed in at 146.25 pounds while Garcia came in at 146.5. That win was the best of Thurman's career, and one of the best fights of 2016.

One thing that can not be overlooked regarding Danny Garcia is the influence of his friend, Philly legend Bernard Hopkins.

"I know Guerrero picks Thurman, who got to Guerrero before Danny did, but I don't think there's much to learn from that", says boxing historian Steve Farhood, who will serve as CBS' unofficial ringside scorer. On March 4 I'm going to show the world again why I'm a real champion. I'm looking to do what I do best.

Keidel: If you had to choose, would you call yourself a boxer or a fighter? On Saturday night, we will see who will come out the better fighter and will be crowned unified champion. We're going to be pushing each other and testing each other.

"Everything in my career has led me to this fight". The pressure to prove who is the best has never been higher and with the departure of Floyd "Money" Mayweather from active competition, the top athletes are all vying to fill that void. I'm going to give the fans something to watch on Saturday. "If it's not happening, then I have to use something else".

This fight is undoubtedly the biggest of both fighters' lives, and strategy will win the war for them.

Murray Saves 7 Match Points In Dubai Win Over Kohlschreiber
Verdasco eliminated fourth-seeded Gael Monfils of France 6-3, 7-5 to advance. Murray fended off one match point with a ridiculous drop shot down 8-9.

Leonard last broadcast a fight in 2015. All three judges saw the bout 115-113 or 7-5 in rounds in his favor.

Odds: As of this writing, Thurman is about a 2-1 favorite to beat Garcia.

Garcia: I would love to knock him out, but you can't go in there expecting a KO. Also, counter-punching is an art. "I think I'll be able to enforce my will on [Garcia] more than I was able to against Shawn Porter". It's plausible that Angel has done his homework and picked up that Thurman doesn't like it to the body and he'll aide Danny in exposing Thurman's limitations.

Despite heading into the bout at (+189), or an nearly 2 to 1 betting underdog, Danny "Swift" appears to have the power, durability and ring intelligence to potentially pull off the mild upset this evening.

Garcia: The Lucas Mathysse fight. Without a doubt, conditioning, along with the strategic adjustments both will probably have to make as the bout progresses, will be a big factor in this one.

The Garcia vs. Thurman fight will finally get settled in Brooklyn.

" This fight reminds me of my incredible [1981] bout against Tommy Hearns".

It was a natural fit and Thurman won the WBA welterweight title that year with a 10th round TKO victory over Diego Chaves.
