A congressman from Mexico is fed up with U.S. President Donald Trump's plan for a border wall, and took it upon himself to show the world why the plan is "absurd". The takeaway: If a politician has no problem scrambling up a steep border fence, then perhaps a 1,900 mile wall will not better serve the goal of keeping people out.

"It would be simple for me to jump into the United States, which shows that it is unnecessary and totally absurd to build a wall", he said. The U.S. president has suggested a tax on Mexican imports or remittances sent to Mexico as potential ways to force Mexico to pay for the wall.

Still others questioned whether he had really climbed the fence himself, as the video doesn't show him doing it. His tweet of the video also contained a nod to the rights of the Mexican people: "Simple to climb the #wall but many are the dangers for our people".

The 2-minute video is the latest creative volley in the worldwide drama unfolding over Trump's signature campaign pledge: to build a wall at the border and make Mexico pay for it.

"I climbed it in Tijuana, one of the highest parts".

The US-Mexico border is approximately 2,000 miles long, running from San Diego to Brownsville, Texas. Reuters reports it could cost closer to $21.6 billion. It is not yet clear what Trump's wall will eventually look like as no plans have been made public so far.

Some on social media were skeptical about how easy it would have been for Guerra to scale the fence, according to the paper.
