British Prime Minister Theresa May has warned the pro-independence Scottish government that "politics is not a game".

In a scathing speech at the Scottish Tory party conference in Glasgow, Mrs May will claim that schools in Scotland are now performing worse than those in parts of Eastern Europe because of the nationalists" "obsession with independence'.

She said that a " tunnel-vision nationalism, which focuses only on independence at any cost, sells Scotland short".

And SNP ministers are also seeking a separate deal for Scotland which could see the country remain in the European single market even after the United Kingdom leaves.

He added: "We will fight against SNP plans for a second independence referendum that would be even more damaging for jobs and businesses". She (Ms Sturgeon) also said she would only have a right to call one if she changed public opinion.

UK Scotland Minister David Mundell said that he was confident the government could seal a divorce deal with the European Union that would win over the people of Scotland but may never be able to please the SNP.

'Politics is not a game and should never be treated as such.

She told BBC Scotland: "We've heard about the SNP jumping up and down on more powers and I would give them a word of warning".

Both doctors are now in Indianapolis at the NFL Combine, giving the Red Sox and Price some logistical issues to work through. Price, 31, led the AL with 230 innings pitched and finished fourth with 228 strikeouts in 2016 - his first year with Boston.

"What people want is for the SNP government to get on with dealing with the issues they want to see addressed on a day-to-day basis; issues like the state of the economy, reforming schools", May said.

"Instead, they have an SNP Government obsessed with its own priority of independence, using the mechanisms of devolved government to further its political aims and all the while neglecting and mismanaging public services in Scotland".

"I am determined to ensure that as we leave the European Union, we do so as one United Kingdom, which prospers outside the European Union as one United Kingdom", May said.

She asked why Tory politicians including herself, Theresa May and Scottish Secretary David Mundell should "say what our response would be to a hypothetical move the SNP hasn't made yet".

She accused Sturgeon of "twisting the truth" and "playing politics" at the expense both of the United Kingdom and the Scottish people.

The First Minister accused United Kingdom ministers of acting with "obstinacy and intransigence" by refusing to accept suggestions from their Scottish counterparts on Brexit negotiations.

She said the SNP was "a party resolutely focused on just one thing: independence".
